The Delhi Park Pageant
Nestled within Picton’s lush green gem, Delhi Park, a magical love letter of a performance comes to life. Since its debut in the summer of 2025, this free community pageant has drawn crowds upwards of 400 people, captivating audiences with its enchanting tale and leaving the park ringing with thunderous applause.
Born from a summer residency in 2025, the Delhi Park Pageant is brought to life by a vibrant cast and crew of over 50 local artists and community members. Written and directed by Krista Dalby, this annual August production unfolds on the grassy stage beneath the park’s towering cottonwood trees.
Audiences of all ages settle onto blankets, benches, and lawn chairs, buzzing with anticipation as the outdoor theater fills with community energy.
Guiding the performance is the Warden of the Wilds, an ancient character who has watched over the landscape since the beginning of time. Through spoken word and song, the moving production traces Picton's deep roots, the stewardship of the land prior to European settlement, and the modern evolution of Delhi Park.
At its heart, the pageant leaves audiences with a timeless reminder:
Take care of each other, take care of the land.
